Sierra x Burton Custom

Sierra x Burton Custom

Sierra Snowboard is excited to announce the arrival of three new collaboration snowboards made by Burton, Capita, and Flow – all with custom Sierra Snowboard graphics, innovative technology and amazing pricing.

The brand new 2010 Sierra Crew, made by Burton in their Austrian factory, is an all-mountain cambered snowboard similar to the Burton Custom, but built with standard four-by-two binding mounts for greater compatibility with a wide range of snowboard bindings.

Designed to ride just like the best-selling Burton Custom, the new Sierra Crews come in six sizes: 152, 155, 156 (limited edition), 157 wide, 158, and 160 wide. All feature brand new Sierra Snowboard graphics created by artist Phil Wiles – including a limited edition 156 cm version nicknamed the “Hybrid” – with input on colors provided by the online community on SierraSnowboard.com.

Sierra Snowboard chose the Burton Custom as a model because it’s a board that experienced riders can love immediately, and newer shredders can appreciate as they progress.

“The 2010 Sierra Crew is what happens when the top manufacturer in snowboarding combines with the biggest and most passionate snow community,” said Donald Fierros, Sierra Snowboard snowboards manager. “Needless to say, this board rips everything the mountain has to offer. And being able to collaborate with Burton helps out quite a bit in developing a new wave of high quality snowboards at amazing prices, and also helps us take Sierra Snowboard as a brand of snowboarding gear to the next level.”

Also on the shelves today is the Sierra Snowboard-Capita collaboration board, the Sierrascope FK, geared toward the progressive park rider.

Based on Capita’s highly-praised 2010 Horrorscope FK model – a lightweight freestyle board featuring subtle reverse-camber design for a buttery feel – the Sierra Snowboard team added carbon stringers in an X between the Sierrascope’s binding inserts for better stability at speed, and a sintered die-cut base for better acceleration. Combine those features with Capita’s Reforestation Certified Sustainable Core and the 2010 Sierrascope makes a legitimate commitment to responsible manufacturing. The graphics on the Sierrascope FK – which comes in 152 and 156 sizes – are the reverse of the Capita Horrorscope FK, and can only be found in the Sierra-exclusive edition.

“Adding the 2010 Sierrascope to the Sierra Snowboard lineup gives us a great freestyle board to complement the all-mountain versatility of the 2010 Sierra Crew,” Fierros said. “And keep a lookout for an upcoming collaboration with Capita on snowboard bindings either later this season or possibly next.”

Rounding out Sierra’s lineup of collaboration boards is the new Sierra Team, which is shaped like the Flow Team, but with a softer flex, making it a great all-mountain board perfect for a rider looking to progress all over the mountain. Available in 153, 157 and 159, the new Sierra Team are in stock and ready to ship now at 50 percent off their suggested retail price.

Burton Vapor x Warhol x Basquiat

burton vapor

Last year the Burton x Futura Vapor was one of the most hyped snowboards of the year. That’s the power of Futura within the hype machine. This year, the Vapor has been considerably less hyped but undeservedly so. The board itself is once again NASA-grade tech, dipped in $1200 worth of Vaporskin Lite, and the shred stick that is going to win Kevin Pearce a gold medal at the Olympics in Vancouver. What’s been largely overlooked, though, is the fact
